I realized early on in my journey towards a safe, armed lifestyle that my tasks as a father and breadwinner were significantly different than the tasks of a soldier or law enforcement officer. Tempting as it is, I don’t need to call in a airstrike to keep my family safe, and I certainly don’t need to round up crack dealers in the bad parts of town.

But that doesn’t mean that there is no benefit to be had from so-called “tactical training” for armed citizens like me.
