Yearly Wrap-up
Sorry for the lack of posting, but I’m writing more for work and working on my first novel, so that is sucking all of the creative oxygen out of the room.
What was this year like, and what do I want from next year?
Well, training-wise, this year has been pretty good. I got to train with John Murphy, John Hearne, Claude Werner and I was able to visit Gunsite once again. I’m wind up with 93 hours of training, just shy of the 100 hours I set as a yearly goal. Next year? Well, there’s a two day class in Okochobee I’m attending in the spring, and I’d like to FINALLY train with Symtac Consulting, but beyond that, I don’t know.
Skill-wise, my goal was to make IDPA Master, and between two bouts of COVID and some gear issues, that just didn’t happen. The good news is, I shot the IDPA 25 Round Classifier at Expert Level this week, which is a bump from my usual Sharpshooter level. Master will have to wait for next year.
Yay me.
Gear-wise, well, let’s just say the perks of working for the NRA far outweigh the perks of working for Ammoman. What probably had the most impact on me was that I upgraded my carry gun, a Glock 19, with all sorts of fun stuff. I think next year, I’ll go back to DA/SA, shooting a CZ P07 (with some upgrades) and a dot to be determined later.
Thank you everyone for your business and/or stopping by here, and may all of you have a very merry Christmas.
